Maskwa Heads North to the Mighty Peace for Support

The Maskwa Medical Center has embarked on a tour of Peace Country municipalities to invite communities to come together to build a new vision for healthcare.  The center’s leadership is actively engaging with local officials and community members to garner support and secure funding for the construction of a cutting-edge medical facility.

Municipal support from the Peace Region is crucial in helping Maskwa realize this vision. By contributing to funding efforts, communities are not only investing in healthcare infrastructure in Northwestern Alberta but also in the well-being of Peace Region community residents.

During the presentations, the Maskwa Medical Center team highlights the projected benefits of the new facility, including improved quality of life and health outcomes and access to specialist care for Northwestern Alberta residents, increased attraction and retention of doctors and medical professionals in rural communities, and investment in research, education and healthcare with no overall increase in health care costs.

“Our goal is to work collaboratively with local municipalities to make this vision a reality and ensure that the residents of Peace Country have access to the best possible healthcare.” Says Ken Drysdale, Chairman of the Maskwa Medical Center board

The center’s delegation has visited various municipalities, including MDs of Fairview and Smoky River, Big Lakes County, Village of Berwyn, Town of Sexsmith, and Clear Hills County presenting their case to city councils and local stakeholders.  Further presentations throughout the Peace Region are scheduled in the upcoming months.  The City of Grande Prairie, County of Grande Prairie and MD of Greenview have each made a $500,000 contribution, recognizing the importance of this Center for their ratepayers.

Local officials have responded positively, recognizing the importance of the project and the potential benefits for their communities. Many have expressed a willingness to support the initiative, but funding remains a critical factor.

The Maskwa Medical Center has set up a dedicated campaign through the Northwestern Alberta Foundation (NAF) to raise awareness and rally community support for the endeavor.  Donors wishing to support the project are encouraged to contact the Maskwa Medical Center directly at info@maskwamedical.ca or visit www.nafgives.com/maskwa-medical-center
