Megan, presently serving as the Dean of Health at Northwestern Polytechnic, originates from Manning, AB, and has been a lifelong resident of northern Alberta. She initiated her nursing career in rural practice, and practiced six years as an instructor in Northwestern Polytechnic's Bachelor of Science in Nursing program before transitioning into a leadership role driven by her passion for health education initiatives, particularly in the northern regions.
In 2010, Megan graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Continuing her academic journey in 2018, she earned a Master of Nursing: Teaching Focus degree from Athabasca University. Drawing from her nursing practice in various rural and remote settings, Megan possesses invaluable experience in the nuances of rural healthcare contexts.
Acknowledging the importance of health education in addressing the needs of northern communities and industries and nurturing community agency, Megan aspires to provide meaningful support to the Maskwa Board.
