Wayne has lived in the Grande Prairie area his whole life, born and raised on the family dairy farm and took over managing it at 19 years old. He was an elected municipal councillor for fifteen years and then elected as the MLA for another eleven years. As the MLA Wayne served as the Minister of Infrastructure and the Minister of Transportation. Wayne also served on many local boards as well as the Provincial boards of LPRT and AGLC.
